Tips on how to Inspect your Roof that you can do yourself.

  1. Look for signs of leaks by checking your ceiling for water stains.
  2. Check your roof shingles, are they curled or cracked?
  3. Inspect flat roofs with roof drains, make sure the drains are free of debris and functioning properly.
  4. Inspect chimneys for cracks or damage.
  5. Inspect gutters, make sure they are free of debris.
  6. Check all flashing to make sure they are fastened and sealed securely.
  7. Check all areas with caulking
  8. Inspect under eaves and overhang, look for damage that may indicate leakage.
  9. Prune back trees
  10. If you are able to check one or more of these, you may need a roof inspector
